Harrisville - Cape Cod - Columbus - Kansas |
This year I have already been in the US twice. First Harrisville, then Cape Cod, and later to Kansas and then Columbus. |
April-May 2008
I left home in the most wonderful spring weather. My garden was ready for the summer and the seed was in the soil. t But here is what Harrisville looked like! |
Next destination was Cape Cod. |
A curious sea gull. |
| Provincetown ... Houses ... | Colors ... |
"Adventures in Knitting" invites every year to a retreat in Provincetown in the old Provincetown Inn. |
| This retreat is a legend and the same knitters attend every year and of course also some new knitters who have heard about this retreat. There had never been as many people as in 2008. | |
Of course the dinner party is wonderful and there is a lot of
talking and laughing and of course good food. Need I mention it - and lots of knitting! If you want to visit "Adventures in Knitting" - go to http://www.adventuresinknitting.com/ |

More food!!
The next day a group of wonderful Cape Cod friends brought me to a fantastic old restaurant where we got food to die for! See below |
t One of my dinner-friends, Karen gave me a lot of seed from her company. I have grown a lot of them in my garden and I gave some to a friend of mine who is an excellent garden artist. She grove them and here is a bucket of flowers that she gave me, when they bloomed - all from Karen's seed. Isn't it a stunning bucket? |
| I ended up with a few days relaxation in Cathys house - that was great! Thank you Cathie for always treating me so well - and also thanks to Claire and Nancy! | |

Again I flied to the US and to Lawrence in Kansas. Above is the view from my hotel window! |
This little doggy was exhibited at the Art Center in Lawrence. Great isn't it? |
One morning when we arrived to the shop (The Yarnbarn of
Kansas) I was an eyewitness to a real drama. Exactly as in the American
movies. Somebody was killed.
q See below!! |
| Only a fake - a movie shot! |

This is how great the newspaper boxes look like on the streets. |
Yarn-Barn of Kansas
I am sure you have ordered something from Yarnbarn of
Kansas - even I have. Otherwise go to http://www.yarnbarn-ks.com/ I taught 3 classes and enjoyed it very much - thanks to the very nice students!!! |

p
Looking from the Yarnbarn of Kansas across
the street there is the most incredible fabric-store. I have never seen so
much fabric in one place and I could not resist buying - so I bought a
colorful Kaffe Fassett piece of fabric. To the left you can see the poster for a theater-play - I would love to see that play! |
After Lawrence Susan drove me to Kansas City where I wanted
to see the art museums. I saw the museums and enjoyed it a lot. I also saw, heard and felt the most fantastic thunderstorm and the heat was absolutely unbearable!! |
| There was a shop with lots and lots of paper and above is ribbons for gift wrapping | - and enjoy this pillow!!! |

Next destination was Columbus, where the huge show for shops
was taking place.
I was working for Harrisville in their booth. We presented BRENDA, which is here photographed on a beautiful young customer. Isn't she beautiful? We also presented the POP Sweater on the fashionshow with the NET Scarf wrapped on the model. LOLLI was of course also shown. You can see them all on this website. |
| Here is my part of the Harrisville Booth at the TNNA in Columbus 2008. | |
